Multidisciplinary care

has been shown to extend the life, of a boy with DMD, by an average of 10 years.  Unfortunately, boys in NY, NJ and CT do not have access to this type of care as there are no DMD clinics in the area. Hope for Javier is dedicated to changing this landscape.

DMD Clinics

provide coordinated care with a team of specialists such as a neuro-muscular doctor, cardiologist, pulmonologist, gastroenterologist and physical therapist.  DMD clinics are also where many of the clinical trials are located.  Without access to clinic sites, boys are shut out of potentially life-saving treatments.

Stony Brook Children’s Hospital

is the site of the first DMD center of excellence in the NY tri-state area. It will give a generation of boys a better shot at being here when a cure or treatment is found.
